Burgo helps Lakelands residents raise $7,600 for cancer council

Residents of Lattitude Lakelands have raised an incredible $7,600 for Cancer Council at their annual Biggest Morning Tea event.

Representatives of Arcadia Group along with Brand Ambassador and former TV star, John Burgess (pictured, with residents), who was the Master of Ceremonies for the morning, also attended last Thursday’s event along with over 100 residents and guests.

Guests were treated to delicious sweets made by village residents, an auction and raffle with prizes generously donated by many local Lakeland businesses including Woolworths Singleton, Coles, Simmo’s Meat Barn, Auto Masters and The Coffee Club.

The day included an inspirational speech by a local cancer survivor, Tania, who shared details of her harrowing two-year long journey fighting and beating cancer and the impact that it had on her and her family.

Local flutist, Dee, provided beautiful background music throughout the event and a ‘Simply the Best’ singalong tribe of the late Tina Turner was also included in a wonderful morning enjoyed by all.

Village resident, Lorraine Sanderson, organised the Biggest Morning Tea event for the second year, showing her passion and dedication to the cause along with many other residents who helped on the day.

Together they raised more than $7,600 for Cancer Council – the highest amount in the history of the village’s Biggest Morning Tea events, which span over 10 years.

Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is an annual fundraising event promoted by Cancer Council which this year celebrated 30 years raising vital funds and awareness to make a huge difference to those impacted by Cancer.

Did you know that 1 in 2 Australians are diagnosed with Cancer before the age of 85?

Lattitude Lakelands is very proud to support such an important event.
