Brakes applied to Lamborghini driver

A Lamborghini driver has had his licence suspended after being caught driving at more than twice the speed limit in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Police say that at about 6.15pm yesterday, officers attached to the Eastern Suburbs Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting speed enforcement duties on Syd Enfield Drive, Bondi Junction, when they detected a grey Lamborghini LP610-4 Huracan – a luxury vehicle with a top speed of around 328km/h – allegedly travelling at 170km/h in an 80km/h zone.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle when it allegedly accelerated and changed lanes, forcing another vehicle to take evasive action to avoid a collision, before coming to a stop on Oxford Street.

Officers spoke to the male driver, who was issued a Court Attendance Notice for motor vehicle exceed speed more than 45km/h and drive manner dangerous.

The Sylvania man is due to appear in Waverley Local Court on Wednesday 18 November. His licence was also suspended.
