Boy threatened with machete in Armidale home invasion

An investigation in underway following a home invasion in the state’s northern tablelands overnight during which a woman and a 15-year-old boy were threatened with a machete.

Police say that at around 1.15am this morning, two men – one armed with a machete – forced entry to a home on Allingham Street in Armidale.

Once inside the home, the men threatened a 30-year-old woman before then seizing cash from a 15-year-old boy, who had awoken to the noise of the intruders. Police say the men then fled on foot.

“Officers attached to New England Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“As detectives continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, they urge anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV from the area to come forward.”
