A teenage boy will appear in court today charged following a brawl at Fairfield train station earlier this week that saw a 75-year-old man reportedly robbed of his walking stick during the melee.
NSW Police say that at around 3:30pm on Wednesday an altercation involving a group of young males occurred at Fairfield Railway Station.
“A crutch was taken from a man who was at the station and used during the altercation. The 75-year-old man suffered a cut to his arm,” Police said in a statement.
“Police were notified, with officers attached to Cabramatta Police Transport Command commencing an investigation.”


Following inquiries, officers attended a Cabramatta home about 4:45pm yesterday and arrested a 17-year-old boy.
He was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station and charged with affray and armed with intent commit indictable offence.
He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court today.
Inquires into the incident are continuing.
