Investigations are underway following a fire at a retirement village in Bethania overnight.
Just after 9pm, police and emergency services were called to the Snedden Street complex where they found one unit was well ablaze.
“Firefighters quickly bought the fire under control however the unit was destroyed,” Queensland Police said in a statement this morning.
More than 50 elderly residents were evacuated from the facility as a precaution.
A woman in her 60s, from a neighbouring unit, was taken to Logan Hospital for smoke inhalation.
Investigations into the cause of the blaze are continuing this morning.
