Feedback sought on Temora Hospital revamp

The Temora community is being encouraged to provide their feedback on the design for the $80 million Temora Hospital redevelopment, which was unveiled by the NSW Government today.

NSW Minister for Regional Health, Ryan Park said the design provides the community with a first look at the redevelopment, which will provide a modern health facility and enhanced healthcare services for Temora and the surrounding region.

“I’m excited about the latest design for this new Temora facility. The redevelopment will deliver enhanced care in a contemporary setting to meet the needs of the local community now and into the future,” said Minister Park.

“The new Temora Hospital will continue to provide emergency department services, as well as modern inpatient accommodation with beds available for medical, surgical, rehabilitation, palliative care and maternity patients.

“Temora Hospital’s key clinical services will be the focus of the redevelopment and will be continually prioritised throughout the design and planning stages.”

Other facilities and services to be delivered include perioperative facilities for surgery and procedures, community and allied health, ambulatory clinics, and pathology. Medical imaging facilities will also be enhanced.

Improved car parking for patients, staff and visitors, as well as separate emergency and service vehicle entry are also included as part of the design.

The hospital redevelopment will be located on the existing site, retaining and maximising its position overlooking Temora township. Light-filled spaces as well as direct views to the hospital’s beautiful gardens are also proposed as part of the project to create a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, visitors and staff.

Murrumbidgee Local Health District, the Local Health Advisory Committee, clinicians and local community members have all helped to inform the hospital’s design.

Community consultation sessions will be held on:

  • Thursday, 15 February 2024 at Temora Council from 12:00pm to 2.00pm
  • Friday, 16 February 2024 outside Ariah Park Coffee Bar from 8.30am to 9.30am
