One hundred and sixty residents and staff of Sydney’s Minchinbury Manor aged care facility have tested negative to COVID-19 following a positive case being recorded in one of the home’s contract cleaners yesterday.
A spokesperson for the aged care facility said it had been in precautionary lockdown since the positive case was detected, sparking fears of an outbreak.
It’s understood around 90% of the home’s 134 residents were fully vaccinated.
Five close contacts of the infected cleaner are now in isolation.
Residents and staff are expected to undergo daily COVID-19 testing.
