Woman wanted over officer’s death surrenders to Police

Queensland Police have charged a 33-year-old Caboolture woman in relation to the alleged murder of Senior Constable David Masters after the woman turned herself in to police late last night.

Police will allege the woman was the driver of the stolen car which fatally struck Senior Constable Masters just after 3am on June 26 as he attempted to lay road spikes to stop the vehicle.

Police say the woman surrendered herself into custody at the Caboolture Police Station shortly before midnight on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court today. Her charges include murder, arson and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Her bail has been refused.

“Police wish to thank the community for their assistance in progressing this investigation,” Queensland Police said in a statement this morning.
