Two aged care residents hospitalised after receiving COVID-19 vaccine overdose

Two elderly nursing home residents have reportedly been hospitalised after receiving an overdose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Queensland yesterday.

Early reports say the pair – an 88-year-old man and 94-year-old woman – were given four times the required dose of the vaccine by a Queensland doctor at the Holy Spirit nursing home in Brisbane yesterday morning.

The doctor involved is believed to have been stood down from giving vaccine jabs while an investigation is underway.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszcuk is expected to address the media regarding the situation later this morning.
