Perth detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident in which an 84-year-old man received serious injuries.
Police say that at around 7pm on Sunday 16 August, the elderly man went to investigate a disturbance outside his Henry Street, East Cannington home and was assaulted.
Officers found the 84-year-old man with serious head and facial injuries outside his home and he was taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital where he remains in the intensive care unit pending surgery.
They say a series of disturbance and damage complaints were reported to police between 6pm and 8pm on Derisleigh Street, Henry Street, Burge Way, Railway Parade and Central Terrace on Sunday.
Detectives urge anyone who was in the area during the above times who saw the assault, or has CCTV, dash-cam vision, to come forward.
