Origin great makes for very happy hour at Embracia Burpengary

Last Friday’s Happy Hour at Embracia Burpengary aged care home was filled with lots of beanies supporting “Beanie for Brain Cancer”.

Special guest at the event was former St George Dragons player and Queensland Origin Great, Wayne Bartrim, who very kindly donated his time to visit the home with his wife, Jody.

Wayne brought along some of his rugby league memorabilia and was happy to talk to the residents and answer their questions about his rugby league playing days.

“A huge thank you to Wayne for spending his afternoon at Embracia in Burpenary and to all those who donated or purchased beanies on the day,” Embracia Aged Care said in an online statement.

Wayne Bartrim departed the Dragons at the end of 2001 and finished his career with a two-year stint with the Castelford Tigers. He now lives in Brisbane, where he works as an electrician.
