Australia Post is celebrating the incredible sporting achievements of our Aussie Paralympic gold medallists with their first ever official Australian Paralympic Team Stamp.
In just 11 days, our Aussie athletes won an outstanding 18 gold medals at the Paris 2024 Paralympics across Para-swimming, Para-cycling, Para-table tennis, Para-rowing, Para-triathlon, Para-athletics and Para-canoe.
Paralympics Australia Chief Executive Officer Cameron Murray said the stamps are more than just a symbol of victory.
“Australia Post’s recognition of our athletes’ achievements highlights the incredible impact they have on the nation, inspiring every Australian to dream big and push beyond limits. We’re proud to see our Paralympians celebrated in such an iconic way,” said Mr Murray.
“The stamps are a wonderful testament to the hard work, resilience, and extraordinary talent of our Paralympians.”
The below athletes will be celebrated with their own official stamp:
- Thomas Gallagher: Para-swimming – Men’s 50m Freestyle S10
- Korey Boddington: Para-cycling track – Men’s C4-5 1000m Time Trial
- Emily Petricola: Para-cycling track – Women’s C4 3000m Individual Pursuit
- Amanda Reid: Para-cycling track – Women’s C1-3 500m Time Trial
- Quian Yang & Lina Lei: Para-table tennis – Women’s Doubles WD20
- Jed Altschwager & Nikki Ayers: Para-rowing – PR3 Mixed Double Sculls
- Lauren Parker: Para-triathlon – Women’s PTWC
- Jesse Aungles, Keira Stephens, Emily Beecroft, Callum Simpson, Timothy Hodge and Alexa Leary: Para-swimming – Mixed 4 x 100m Medley Relay
- James Turner: Para-athletics – Men’s 400m T36
- Qian Yang: Para-table tennis – Women’s Singles WS10
- Alexa Leary: Para-swimming – Women’s 100m Freestyle S9
- Lauren Parker: Para-cycling Road – Women’s H1-4 Road Race
- Timothy Hodge: Para-swimming – Men’s 200m Individual Medley SM9
- Vanessa Low: Para-athletics – Women’s Long Jump T63
- Benjamin Hance: Para-swimming – Men’s 100m Backstroke S14
- Callum Simpson: Para-swimming – Men’s 100m Freestyle S8
- James Turner: Para-athletics – Men’s 100m T36
- Curtis McGrath: Para-canoe – Men’s Kayak Single 200m KL2
Each stamp is created after our Aussie athletes win gold, with their official Paralympic medal ceremony image featured on each unique stamp.
The sheetlet of five stamps will be available within one week of the medal ceremony for pre-orders online, and at participating Australia Post Office outlets thereafter.
Australian athletes competed in 17 sports at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, and Australia Post is encouraging fans to celebrate their favourite athlete by taking home an official gold medal stamp.
Australia Post Executive General Manager Retail, Josh Bannister said the stamp program is a historic honour for the Australian Paralympic Team.
“Australia Post is proud to support the incredible talent in the Aussie Paralympic team and honour our gold medal winners with their own official stamp. Recognising athletes on a stamp that is accessible to their families and all Australians is a special tribute.
“Whether it be in the pool, track, courtside, or on the pitch, Aussies can throw their support behind their favourite gold medallists and take home a piece of history with a stamp, sharing the love and excitement for the Paris 2024 Paralympics.”
