An 80-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital after a horse riding accident at Upper Horton, northwest of Barraba today.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to the rural property at around 12.40pm today following reports a man had suffered serious injuries in a fall from a horse.
“NSW Ambulance Paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team have treated and stabilised the 80-year-old male rider suffering head and leg injuries,” the Westpac Rescue Helicopter crew said in a statement.
“The gentleman has since been airlifted to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.”
