Lisa Marie Presley has died at the age of 54 after suffering a cardiac arrest yesterday.
The daughter of music legend Elvis and Priscilla Presley reportedly collapsed at her home in California, before she was found by her housekeeper and ex-husband Danny Keough.
“My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care. Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world and ask for privacy at this time,” her mother, Priscilla, said in a statement shortly after her daughter was rushed to hospital.
Presley, who was just nine when her world famous father died in 1977. Her most recent public appearance was at Tuesday’s Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, where she attended with her mother as actor, Austin Butler, was honoured with a Globe for his portrayal of Elvis in the Baz Luhrmann movie, ’Elvis.’
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” her mother confirmed in a statement to People magazine earlier today.
“She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
