After falling from his boat, Victoria Police had grave concerns for keen fisherman, Bart.
The 68-year-old’s boat was found doing circles off the coast of Indented Head around 9.30am on Monday.
Following an extensive search and more than six hours in the water, Bart was later found around 1.5km from where the boat was located.
Today he was reunited with the officers that saved his life.
“Bart is still alive today thanks to the lifejacket he was wearing and the quick thinking of those who located the boat to call emergency services,” Victoria Police said.
“Carrying the right safety equipment and knowing how to use it is essential when you’re on the water – it could even save your life.”
