Brave Indi loses battle after vicious dog attack

The much-loved Jack Russell at the centre of a vicious mauling of a woman as the pair walked along a popular trail in Sydney’s south at the weekend has lost her fight for life.

Eleanor Booth tried valiantly to protect her precious pup, Indi, from an attack by two Irish Wolfhounds, forcing her to flee into neck-deep mud to escape the onslaught.

Ms Booth suffered a broken arm and numerous dog bites in the incident at Lugarno, while Indi was left with life-threatening injuries, which sadly she succumbed to yesterday afternoon while being treated at the Sydney Animal Hospital.

It’s understood little Indi suffered several heart attacks as a result of the attack.

A Gofundme set up for Indi and her brave owner has raised more than $24,000.

Police are still searching for the owner of the dogs who attacked Indi and Ms Booth.

“There is liability for the owner of dogs, certainly dogs that go out and attack each other, and that will form part of the investigation,” NSW Police said yesterday.
