Australia Post has announced it will recruit around 3,000 seasonal casuals as it ramps up operations in the lead up to Christmas.
It has put out a call for forklift operators, van and truck drivers as well as freight handlers and parcel sorters to fill roles across the delivery network. Roles are available in all States and Territories, with the highest demand in NSW, Victoria and Queensland.
Australia Post Executive General Manager, People and Culture, Sue Davies said seasonal casuals play a critical role in helping Australia Post ensure deliveries reach customers in time for the holiday period.
“As we approach our busiest time of year, we’re looking to bolster our workforce to ensure we can meet increased demand and maintain the high level of service Australians expect from Australia Post,” said Ms Davies.
“Last year, we delivered almost 100 million parcels in the lead up to Christmas, thanks to the help of our seasonal casuals who worked alongside our existing team members. We’d love to hear from people who have a valid forklift or truck license, as well as people looking to work in parcel processing, deliveries and freight handling.
“Joining our team not only provides the opportunity to be a part of a supportive and dynamic environment but also allows you to earn extra money and to spread the merry this Christmas. Working in a seasonal casual role can also create opportunities to work with Australia Post beyond the end of the year. We have many team members who started as a seasonal casual and are still part of our team many years later.
“Australia Post is proud to have one of Australia’s most diverse workforces, and employs people of all ages, background and abilities to reflect the communities it serves around the country,” she said.
