Rachel Lane Comes to Medowie

LEADING co-author of two best-selling books ‘Downsizing Made Simple’ and ‘Aged Care, Who Cares’ is coming to Medowie.

Rachel Lane will be appearing at a downsizing seminar which will cover retirement financial models, the tax and legal implications, and provide a platform for attendees to ask questions about retirement villages and downsizing options.

Rachel writes regular columns on retirement living and aged care for the Sydney Morning Herald, Melbourne’s Age and the Brisbane Times and regularly speaks on TV and Radio.

She explains the financial aspects of retirement living and aged care in ways that are engaging and informative, breaking down complex financial arrangements into plain English and empowering people to understand the choices they have available to them.

“I like to think of downsizing more as rightsizing. When I saw a lot of people go through the downsizing process I found it was really more about what is the right size home for them,” she said.

“What is the right chapter in life for retirees to have a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house with a really big garden and swimming pool that might get used twice a year.

“For those who like to travel when they can, do you need a great big house to come back to, or is it the right size where you can just lock it up and leave it,” she said.

She goes on to explain that moving into a retirement community is another way retirees can have that security of being part of a safe community and know you can go away and your things are looked after.

The seminar ‘The Myths and Tips of Downsizing’ will be held at Pacific Dunes Golf Club on 11 March 2021. Principle Living are the seminar organisers and indicated bookings are essential as numbers are limited.
