Oriana Choir to Present Pop Royalty – A tribute to the Kings and Queens of Popular Music

Get ready for an unforgettable musical experience as the Sunshine Coast’s acclaimed Oriana Choir brings Pop Royalty to the stage, 2:00pm, March 22 at the Matthew Flinders Performance Centre and March 28 at The J, Noosa with concerts at 1:30pm and 7:30pm. Pop Royalty is set to bring the house down in a spectacular tribute to the kings, queens, princes and princesses of popular music, celebrating 8 decades of global hits that shaped generations. 

Journey through the iconic sounds of Nat King Cole, Whitney Houston, Elvis, Michael Jackson, John Farnham, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and so many more. Vibrant, nostalgic, and bursting with hits, Pop Royalty is a show that honours the music that is the soundtrack of our lives.

These well-loved songs will come to life through the Oriana Choir’s rich harmonies, the vibrant, energetic direction of conductor Elisabeth Wallis Gaedtke, and the accompaniment of the talented Oriana Band. This dazzling concert event will showcase the unforgettable music of the world’s most iconic superstars.

Adding to the excitement, the Sunshine Coast Youth Choir conducted by Sarah Laws will join the stage, bringing fresh energy and youthful enthusiasm to this spectacular musical event.

These performances follow our regular Modern Season popular music events, the most recent being a tribute to Elton John and Billy Joel in 2025 called “Piano Men and in 2024 a tribute to Queen and ABBA called ”Dancing Queen”. These were sell-out performances.

Centred on Queensland’s vibrant Sunshine Coast, Oriana Arts Inc is a not-for-profit, community-based organisation that incorporates the highly acclaimed, multi award-winning  Oriana Choir and the Sunshine Coast Youth Choir. 

Oriana has over 90 members across its two ensembles ranging in age from 8 to over 65. Members come from all across the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas to attend the weekly rehearsals. Oriana Choir has performed regularly for 20 years and recently celebrated this milestone with a very dynamic 20^th Anniversary Celebratory Concert to a 600 strong audience.
