Miniature exhibition highlights beauty of Darling Downs

An exhibition of miniature paintings highlighting the natural beauty of the Darling Downs and its character buildings will be on display at the Crows Nest Gallery from September 18 to October 13.

Marilyn Murray’s exhibition, Little Darlings (pictured) references not only the size of the paintings, but the subject matter, the Darling Downs.

The exhibition features approximately 40 miniature artworks that will jog memories and evoke emotional ties to anyone who is familiar with the Darling Downs.

Created as part of Marilyn’s ‘Meeting History in Miniature’ series, these intricate works of art highlight the beauty of the Darling Downs, featuring old churches, community halls and pubs.

Crows Nest Gallery, at the corner of the New England Highway and William Street is open from 10.30am to 3.30pm Wednesday to Sunday. It is closed on Monday, Tuesday and public holidays.
