SA Police to patrol Victorian border

South Australia Police say they will continue to actively patrol all roads coming from Victoria into the state over the next few days.

Due to the COVID-19 situation in Victoria and the current Emergency Management Declaration, entry in to South Australia is restricted to those travellers who have a current and appropriate Cross Border Travel approval and only on the following permitted roads:

  • Sturt Highway, Yamba
  • Mallee Highway, Pinnaroo
  • Dukes Highway, Wolseley
  • Wimmera Highway, Laurie Park
  • Casterton Road, Penola
  • Glenelg Highway, Myora
  • Princes Highway, Glenburnie
  • Glenelg River Road, Donovans/Nelson

“It is an offence to disobey an Emergency Management Direction, so any person detected trying to or having entered South Australia without the proper Cross Border Travel approval will be stopped and may be the subject of formal police action,” SAPOL said in a statement today.

“All travellers are reminded to exercise caution on the approach to all border locations and to comply with all warning and speed restrictions.”

Information regarding Cross Border Travel and current Emergency Management Directions is available on the SA Government intranet site  https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/
